At Kalambara, Bharatanatyam is not just a dance—it is a profound language of storytelling, emotion, and spirituality. Rooted in tradition yet dynamically evolving, our mission is to cultivate a deeper understanding of this art form beyond aesthetic appreciation. We strive to bridge the past and present, ensuring Bharatanatyam remains a powerful medium of artistic and cultural expression in the modern world.

PRACTICE COMMUNITY
In an effort to make Bharatanatyam more accessible, disciplined, and consistent for dancers worldwide, Nishita Joshi initiated the Bharatanatyam Practice Community—a non-profit global movement that brings together over 200 dancers from different corners of the world.
Through this initiative, dancers are facilitated with structured online practice sessions every weekend, allowing them to ignite their passion, refine their technique, and maintain the rigorous discipline that Bharatanatyam demands. These sessions serve as a supportive space where dancers, regardless of their geographical location or level of expertise, come together to practice with commitment and accountability.
Nishita’s dedication to building a sustainable and inclusive dance community has not only helped artists stay consistent and motivated but has also fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared learning among dancers. This initiative is a testament to her belief that Bharatanatyam is not just an art form but a way of life, where discipline, devotion, and perseverance shape the dancer’s journey.
Through the Bharatanatyam Practice Community, Nishita continues to give back to the dance fraternity, ensuring that classical dancers have the guidance, structure, and collective energy they need to keep their practice alive and thriving.
